Lead Advisor (M&A)

Lead Advisor required for a leading specialist within the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) field, to be the focal point of the transactional deal making team. Working in partnership with SME clients, the Lead Advisor will set the strategic direction of projects, manage all negotiations, be the principal point of contact between business owners and prospective acquirers, and manage relationships with other third-parties, including legal advisors.

The position requires a commercially astute, expert negotiator, who is able to identify key selling points of clients' businesses, and advise business owners on a full range of sale options and outcomes. This will involve liaising directly with board-level executives at acquiring organisations, so a proven ability to build and develop business relationships and commercial partnerships is essential.

Essential Skills & Experience

The Lead Advisor will have extensive corporate finance / relevant commercial experience.

* ACA / ACCA qualification desirable.
* Experience of managing a portfolio of clients
* Exceptional account management skills with proven ability to manage client relationships, and advise and implement commercial strategy for clients.
* Understanding of M&A market, including valuation techniques and financial models.
* Experience of a range of M&A deal types - Trade Sales to other organisations, Management Buy-Ins, Management Buy-Outs, Private Equity
* Proven ability to manage high-level negotiations
* Exceptional interpersonal skills, with experience of presenting at board level
* Independent self-starter with a positive approach to new business development.
