In more than 140 countries, we offer spare parts, technical information and training, as well as diagnostic hardware and software and services for analysis, upkeep and repair of vehicles.
Due to continued business requirements, we are now looking to recruit an additional Software Tester to join our team in Stockport.
Software Tester Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* Preparing test plans
* Designing and executing system & regression tests.
* Defining the acceptance criteria and tests cases for the system requirements.
* Producing written reports on the test results.
* Working with the customer to develop and execute acceptance test plans
* Clearly logging and categorising issues in our defect management tool.
* Setting up test environments.
* Working with the customer and support the operation group with product non-conformance investigations

The Ideal Software Tester
Essential Skills and Experience
* A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, sw engineering or other scientific subject
* Proven experience in software testing, knowledge of automated test tools, experience of test design and test strategy development
* Knowledge of JAVA client applications
* Able to work on own initiative and manage your own time.
* Able to apply testing in an Agile methodology.
* Use of issue tracking system, e.g. JIRA
* Fluent English
* Dedication to high quality, on time delivery
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Skills and Experience
* Formal testing qualification such as ISTQB / ISEB CTFL
* Experience with software automation test tools e.g. QF-Test, Ranorex, Seleniun
* Configuration management tools - e.g GIT, SVN
* JIRA for logging defects
* Knowledge/Understanding of programming languages Python / Javascript / XML
* Agile development as part of a Scrum team
* Automated build systems e.g. Jenkins
* Knowledge of virtual environments such as Oracle VM VirtualBox
* Experience/Knowledge with vehicle & diagnostics communication protocols (ISO-15765 / ISO-14229 / ISO-13400)
* Automotive diagnostics data knowledge (ECU diagnostics data)
